It's already February 2008---YIKES!
One of our warriors has passed on to the spirit world. Mr. Floyd Red-crow Westerman. We honored him in last year's issue of Renaissance Indian. We take a moment to remember Floyd and all his good works he has done for our community and for those close to him.

A date has been slated for First Americans In The arts awards. May 3rd, 2008 at Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California 90210. There was discussion that the writers strike might have some consequences for the show. But it looks like we are under the radar. So let the show begin, aayy

The Autry National Center is hosting the Native Voices. Opening Night of Teaching Disco Square Dancing to Our Elders: A Class Presentation.  That would be for Friday, February 8 at 8pm.

2/16/08..And this bit just came in last week. The land behind the famous Hollywood sign is up for sale. Get this idea. There is about 140 (plus or minus) acres up there. I was thinking...imagine that, if three or four rich tribes pooled their money together and buy that land up there, they could build a casino. How about them apples? They'd be called "The Five Tribes On The Hill"

And lastly my good friends and neighbors, this will be my last issue for six months. I am taking a leave-of-absences. The next issue will be October 2008
