FEB-APRIL 2003
Hello friends. My name is Andrea
and I am from the Arikara, Hidatsa, and Mandan tribes of the Fort Berthold
Reservation in North Dakota. I am a second year biology major with a pre-med
focus, and English minor at Whittier College. I eventually plan on becoming an
M.D., doing some writing on the side, or working for a non-profit agency to help
the Native community. Who knows, maybe all the above! As far as modeling, I
frankly never planned on anything remotely close. However, it was fun and I am
grateful for the experience and all of the great people that I've met as a
result.
When I'm not in class or at work,
I enjoy going to pow wows and seeing old friends. I am a fancy shawl dancer. For
me, pow wows, our ceremonies, and going back to the "Rez" to visit family are a
lifeline. If I'm not at a pow wow, I love hiking, listening to music, and going
on long drives to explore new areas. The most important things to me right now
are my culture, education, family and friends.
